May 1, 2001
Bill Quiroga and Teena Hayden were honored by being inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame by the University of Arizona's Karl Eller Center & Berger Entrepreneurship Program in the College of Business and Public Administration. The award was in recognition of the Company's "Outstanding Development of a Socially Aware Business"


Spring 2001
Native American Botanics' label art was featured in HerbalGram Magazine's Spring 2001 issue (#51). The beautiful 13 page article highlighted the art commissioned by the Company with a description of each piece as well as a short biography of each artist.


March 2001 - Anaheim, CA

November 16, 2000 - Small Business Success Award
The Arizona Small Business Development Center Network and Arizona Friends of Small Business honored Native American Botanics and other new businesses with a Small Business Success Award at a well-attended luncheon in Tucson. The award was handed to the Company founders by Arizona Secretary of State, Betsy Bayless.  Congressman Jim Kolbe and other state dignitaries were present to show their support of small business.


August 25, 2000 - Ribbon Cutting
Native American Botanics' headquarters is on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation southwest of Tucson, Arizona, at the foot of Black mountain in the heart of the Sonoran desert.  This site is a modest half acre,  with a building for office space as well as room for demonstration gardens, greenhouses and  continued research to improve the production of herbs.

July 17, 2000 - NIH SBIR Phase I Grant - National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
Native American Botanics was notified of its third Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award in two years. The research grant titled "A New Cultivation System for Clean Consistent Root Crops" will compare hydroponically grown herbs against soil grown medicinals for yield as well as quality. The Company believes its technology will provide more environmentally control leading to less variability and resulting in cleaner, more consistent raw materials for the Herbal Dietary Supplement market


May 15, 2000 - USDA SBIR Phase I Grant - Rural and Community Development
Native American Botanics was awarded a second United States Department of Agriculture Small Business Innovation Research (USDA SBIR) Grant. This Phase I grant is in the area of Rural and Community Development, and involves a collaboration with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona and the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. The collaborators will develop a network of individual entrepreneurs who will supply the company with quality herbs while developing savings and economic literacy skills through Individual Development Account asset savings programs.


February 17, 2000 - Pascua Yaqui of Arizona funds Native American Botanics
In an effort to encourage Tribal members to establish their own businesses, the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council invested in the success of Native American Botanics Corporation. This business is owned and operated by Mr. Bill Quiroga, a tribal member who has prepared an award winning business plan to produce dietary supplements using natural herbs. As part of the conditions of the investment, Native American Botanics will assist 25 Tribal members to go into business as producers and suppliers of the raw materials needed to produce the products.


May 6, 1999 - USDA SBIR Phase I Grant - Marketing and Trade
Native American Botanics Corp was awarded its first federal grant monies in the form of a USDA SBIR Phase I grant in the area of Marketing and Trade. This grant provided an opportunity to explore the market value of Native American products through collaboration with The Hartman Group, a consulting company focused on the Natural Products Industry.
